At It’s My Life Kamloops Society, we empower adults with developmental disabilities to live self-directed, fulfilling lives. We provide personalized support that helps individuals live in their own homes, pursue meaningful employment, and engage in their communities in ways that are purposeful and important to them.
Since 2013, It’s My Life Kamloops Society has been dedicated to enriching the lives of the individuals we support through a person- and family-centered approach. We partner with individuals, their families, and like-minded organizations to create meaningful opportunities for people to live fulfilling, self-directed lives.
We are governed by the B.C. Societies Act and are a growing, committed team dedicated to creating intentional, positive change in the lives of the people supported through IMLKS.
Our agency operates under a constitution and by-laws that define our purpose and outline the regulatory processes that guide our governance, including Board Elections, Annual General Meetings, and Financial Reporting procedures.
We believe that every person has the right to fully participate in—and be welcomed by—their community. Our role is to help make that a reality.
It’s My Life Kamloops Society is committed to fostering a community that is welcoming, inclusive, and supportive of all people.
We offer a range of personalized resources and supports tailored to the unique needs of each person and their family. Through a person-centered planning process, we identify goals, strengths, and the supports needed to help each individual thrive.
We work alongside individuals and their families to ensure the people we support are recognized and included as valued members of our community, with opportunities for full participation in all areas of life.
At It’s My Life Kamloops Society, we believe every individual deserves the opportunity to live a life of meaning, choice, and possibility. We are driven by the conviction that people thrive when their unique skills are recognized, their decisions are respected, and their dreams are supported. Our purpose is to create the conditions that allow each person to grow, participate fully, and be celebrated for who they are.
All of our services are funded by the provincial government through Community Living BC (CLBC). In addition to providing financial support, CLBC sets policies that guide the delivery of our services. They are also responsible for determining eligibility and managing waitlists for the supports we provide.
It’s My Life Kamloops Society serves adults who meet CLBC’s eligibility criteria for funding.
