It's My Life Kamloops Society (IMLKS) is a non- profit organization dedicated to ensuring that adults with developmental disabilities are supported to enjoy a good life. This is done by supporting people to live in their own homes, work at a job they enjoy and to be contributing members of their community in a way that is meaningful to them.
Since 2013 IMLKS has been devoted to enriching the lives of the individuals we support and we pride ourselves in our person and family centered approach. IMLKS works in partnership with individuals and their families as well as with other determined people and organizations to provide opportunities for people to live a fulfilling life.
We are governed by the B.C. Society Act and are a small group of committed people who work to intentionally create positive change in the lives of the people supported through IMLKS.
It's My Life Kamloops Society (IMLKS) membership is made up of the individuals we support and other like-minded people who share our vision of an inclusive community. Our agency has a Constitution and By-laws that set out our purpose and the legal rules and processes that outline how we govern ourselves, including our Board Elections, Annual General Meetings and Financial Reporting procedures.
We are funded by the provincial government through Community Living BC (CLBC). In addition to providing funding, CLBC has its own policies which we must adhere to and they are responsible for determining eligibility, and managing wait-lists for supports and services we deliver.
