The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) is an international, non-profit organization founded in 1966.
CARF's mission is to provide accreditation standards and surveyors for organizations working in the human-services field worldwide. Among the many areas of practice represented in the CARF standards, IMLKS is surveyed in our Supported Living as well as Community Integration programs. Over 6,600 organizations and over 49,000 programs are accredited by CARF internationally.
Accreditation is an accountability and quality improvement process. Achieving accreditation status is an international movement that is continually expanding. To be initially accredited, a program or organization must demonstrate a minimum of six months where they use and implement the applicable CARF standards and the direct provision of services to persons served. In order to keep up with accreditation standards, the agency has to be able to demonstrate compliance to all applicable standards for a 3 year period.
It's My Life Kamloops Society is very proud to announce that as of April 2024, we have received another three year accreditation from CARF International.
