At It’s My Life Kamloops Society, we specialize in providing individualized 24-hour support for adults who choose to live in their own homes. Our Supported Living program is designed around the strengths, skills, and personal goals, of the individuals we support, offering flexibility, choice, and services tailored to their individual needs. We strive to enrich lives by fostering life skill development and creating safe, nurturing home environments.
Supported Living helps individuals manage all aspects of life, from maintaining health and safety to focusing on the bigger picture of the future. Support is guided by each individual's unique needs, desires, strengths, abilities, and the vision they and their family have for their life.
We assist individuals in living their best life by supporting healthy routines, personal care (if needed), home upkeep, and participation in valued roles. We also help build friendships, connect individuals with neighbors, attend medical appointments, and practice good self-care—all while promoting independence and community involvement.
We believe strong connections with family and friends are essential for safety and well-being. While most individuals have 24/7 live-in support, this does not limit or restrict their time with loved ones. Our goal is to support independence while ensuring safety.
Individuals have the right to choose who supports them. When hiring staff, individuals and their family are invited to be involved in the interview process. If staff changes occur, we carefully select candidates who are qualified, share interests, and the meet individual's specific needs.

Socially valued roles are unique to each person, shaped by their life, relationships, and interests. Examples include having paid employment, being a tenant, being a friend or family member, voting, volunteering, or participating in a club.
Community Integration also involves assisting individuals in finding employment or volunteer positions aligned with their abilities and passions, empowering them to make meaningful contributions and feel a sense of purpose. We work closely with employers to ensure both the individual and the workplace thrive.
